(Probably Fake) Company Dissolves After Giving $1 million to pro-Romney PAC.

One of those companies was W. Spann LLC, a mysterious New York-based company that apparently closed up shop last month shortly after its contribution to the pro-Romney PAC. As NBC News's Michael Isikoff reports, the company was formed in March by Boston estate tax lawyer Cameron Casey and listed a midtown Manhattan address where the landlord says there's no record of the firm being a tenant.

The company gave $1 million to Restore Our Future on April 28, and according to records obtained by Isikoff, dissolved on July 12th, just two weeks before the pro-Romney PAC disclosed its donors to the Federal Election Commission. There's no indication in the records of what the company did or who its owners or principals were.

“Mitt Romney - Our Favorite Liberal”

Via Mother Jones:

A South Carolina Democratic operative uses Mitt’s own words (and a smooth Al Green track) to show why the ex-Massachusetts governor will be a tough sell to GOP nutjobs. Among the greatest hits:

  • “I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.”
  • “I like mandates. The mandates work.”
  • “I am not going to change our pro-choice laws in Massachusetts in any way. I will preserve them, I will protect them, I will enforce them. And therefore I’m not gonna make any changes which would make it more difficult for a woman to make that choice herself.”

This Just In: Mitt Romeny is Still a Total Douche.

It has been a year since Willard dropped out of the Presidential race and crushed this blog's dreams of stardom. I can't say as I have missed him as much as I have missed making fun of everything that he is and everything that he stands for. Recently, Willard spoke with Time Magazine about Obama's first couple of weeks in office, what he thinks is wrong with the economic stimulus bill and what his own future may hold. Some of his more douchy comments include:
"I think President Obama is off to a rocky start. The theme "Yes, we can" seems to have been replaced with "Well, maybe we can't." I believe that with all the challenges America faces, the simple solutions and the hopes that were sold by the Obama team are inadequate to the task ahead. The cabinet appointments have been subject to a disappointing vetting process. His forays into foreign affairs produced a very unfortunate comment that America has been "dictating" to other nations."
and
Gov. Palin is an effective and popular political voice, and I believe she will continue to draw interest among party faithful and that she'll have an impact on the party's direction in the future.
Ahhhh classic Willard, just like we remember him. still up to his old tricks, still full of crap.

Romney's Vice-Presidential Padering Efforts In Full Swing...

So, the latest from the Willard Romney flip-flop express is, that Old Willard has made it to the elimination round of the John McCain V.P. sweepstakes (Dear God, no!) and has started his own PAC that according to a spokesman, "will be the organization that will allow Gov. Romney to stay politically active on behalf of the candidates and causes that he cares about." Like making himself the Vice Presidential nominee and continuing to hate poor people.

As part of his new duties of sucking up to major donors as well as Sen. McCain, Willard is going to be a busy boy in the coming weeks: He is hosting President Bush on May 28 at his home in Deer Valley, Utah for a Victory 2008 fundraiser. He's raising money for Rep. Tom Feeney in Florida on the 30th and then jets to Jacksonville for the Federation of Black Republicans convention (Wait, what? They know they're getting Willard, right?). In addition, he'll serve as a surrogate for McCain at two Republican conventions: in Colorado and in Texas. And he'll campaign with and raise money for Sen. McCain on June 11.

McCain veepstakes team: Don't say that we didn't warn you about letting Willard drive the "Straight Talk Express:"
